School Closure

Following Government advice, we are now closed to the vast majority of pupils. A small number of staff will be in school each day to support the children of parents who are key workers and are required to work at this time.

School staff shall be working remotely and the office@leybourne.kent.sch.uk email account shall be checked regularly. Parents may use this email address or may contact the Headteacher directly on headteacher@leybourne.kent.sch.uk. The school telephone will be answered by a member of the Senior Leadership Team between the hours of 8:30am and 3:15pm Monday to Friday.

If you have any safeguarding concerns during this closure period please contact Tina Holditch (Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead) at school, or if you believe a child may be at risk of imminent harm, you can also contact the Integrated Front Door on 03000 411111 (or 03000 419191 outside office hours, or the Police on 999).

Please do keep checking the school website during this closure period as we shall continue to update it regularly.

No decision has been made on a timetable for re-opening schools. Schools remain closed until further notice, except for children of critical workers and the most vulnerable children.

Schools will only re-open when the scientific advice indicates it is the right time to do so.

Coronavirus

In an effort to give you timely, relevant information we are setting up this information page regarding Coronavirus and its impact on our school.   Our daily updates will be published here, along with information from the Department for Education and Public Health England.

Parents should be aware that additional care is being taken at the present time to minimise the risk of the transmission of Coronavirus.  The school is following the advice of the Department for Education and Public Health England in this respect.  School routines and expectations are continuing as normal, although we are monitoring Government advice on a daily basis and making necessary changes as a result.  Should we need to make changes to school routines we shall inform parents via Schoolcomms and updating this website page.  We are encouraging pupils and teachers to wash their hands frequently and to exercise additional care in using tissues if sneezing or coughing.  Tissues are binned after use.  We ask parents to ensure that pupils come to school with an adequate supply of clean tissues. Soap is available in all pupil toilets and we do remind pupils to use it when washing their hands.

The government has set up a special hotline for any parents, pupils or staff who have concerns:

Phone: 0800 046 8687
Email:
DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk
Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)
