Our School Lunches are provided by The Contract Dining Company who are a local firm who use fresh local produce as the basis of all their meals. They provide excellent nutritious and appetising meals for all the children.
The Contract Dining Company use fresh local produce, obviously this has implications in terms of storing and ordering fresh food. In order to avoid wastage or unnecessary freezing of food we need to ensure that we order the appropriate amount of food. It is for this reason that The Contract Dining Company insist that meals are ordered in advance. Each term we send out a calendar to all the children and we would be grateful if could return the completed calendar showing which days your child will be having school lunch at the start of each term. (Additional copies of the calendar are available on the school website). The kitchen will not have a large supply of frozen food to cook for children who have not pre ordered their lunches.
Although lunches will need to be ordered at the beginning of each term, payment will not need to be made at the time of ordering. Payment will however be required at the beginning of each week. Payment can be made via schoolcomms (our preferred payment method) or by cash or cheque (cheques payable to The Contract Dining Company).
The cost of a school dinner remains at £2.30 per day. I can assure you that this is excellent value for money as the children will be eating larger portions of better quality food, with access to a fresh salad bar each day.
New menus are sent out to all children each term and copies are also available on our website. Please discuss the menu with your child and help them to choose which days they would like to have a school lunch.
